1. ChaeYoung X Chaengcasso
ChaeYoung is lovingly known by ‘ONCE’s’ as Chaengcasso for her artistic abilities. She is most notably recognized by her distinct drawing style in her doodles that she has been drawing like since being in the survival show ‘Sixteen’. You can see her artwork even on the cover of the limited edition “TWICE’s 2016 EP, Page Two” and she has even designed limited edition shoes and face masks with her signature doodles. Also, she has used her art skills for customizing her own clothes and her group members’ clothes. As well as making birthday gifts with custom drawings for her group member Momo i.e., a tote bag with Boo and Sully from ‘Monsters Inc’ and shirt with ‘Barbie’ on it etc. and a custom hair scrunchie designed with a mini bunny on it for her group member NaYeon’s birthday. A post shared by 채영 (CHAEYOUNG) (@chaeyo.0) Chaengcasso can be seen creating on Jessi’s “Showterview” episode 55 when she drew a picture of her, and her Instagram @chaeyo.0 which is like her own personal homage to art and creativity. She even did an interview with Allure Korea where she stated “ I want to become an artist who can readily create and express myself. I want to be someone who can inspire and help others.”- Allure Korea. And there is even a fun episode of her with her group member Mina on “2Wice’s Date ep. MICHAENG” where you can hear the two of them talk about life, make pottery, and see ChaeYoung relax and smile as she is in her natural element making art.

When I need to write something, I like to empty my head by pouring out my thoughts” (Midori notebook) and “I get anxious when I don’t have you.” (Smateria pencil case) these are the names that Chaengcasso put on the name tag of the items from her ELLE Korea ‘Name Tag’ Series YouTube interview, and they echo so clearly the sentiments that she has about art in her heart.

2. HyunJin: From Aperture to Art
In a YouTube video filmed October 9th, 2021, HyunJin talks about how he used to like photography and taking pictures of things but now he’s more interested in making art and drawing things. Also, in the same video while he is showing us his art, he says that he used to like to paint with acrylic paint. But now he’s more into painting with watercolor instead because oil pastels make his hands dirty from drawing with them. HyunJin opens with STAY about how much he loves art when he tells them “When I’m not on stage singing or dancing. I only think about drawing”. Later on, in the video while HyunJin is walking around vlogging he talks about how he enjoys wandering around and exploring new places to feel the culture (or atmosphere) of the place he’s in. And in the future when he goes on a world tour, he would like to visit museums. A post shared by Stray Kids (@realstraykids)
A post shared by Stray Kids (@realstraykids) Fast forward a year later now in 2022 and his dreams came true as Stray Kids went on a world tour and HyunJin got to visit museums in different countries. And through these experiences he has created art to capture the places he has visited right Japan, Chicago, and New York.
A post shared by Stray Kids (@realstraykids) HyunJin makes art not only about the different places and countries he visits while touring. But about multiple things and based on the artwork we have seen him create, we think some of his favorite topics to get inspiration from or draw are flowers, landscapes and buildings, scenes from movies, and cool toned pieces. He has showcased his art on Instagram through process videos and photos and because of this Hugh Jackman (also known as Wolverine from “X-Men”) has seen his artwork and praised him on how much of an amazing artist he is. The talent that he has been acknowledged by both STAY and a celebrity proving just how skilled he is and that his artwork is loved by many. HyunJin also has livestreams on Vlive creating art and if you would like to see his progress as he continues to create art you can look for the hashtag #hyunpic on both Instagram and Vlive.
She also showcases her talent in art in a calm, cool and collected way in the “ITZY Vlog Yuna in Jeju” as she sits in a themed cafe for painting while drinking her latte. Yuna is all smiles in this vlog, and you can really feel her love for art as she exclaims things such as “I’m feeling great! Wow this is beautiful. Oh, this feels so nice!" while she continues painting the view of the sea from the cafe. Another thing she discusses with MIDZY is that she loves acrylic paint because if you make a mistake, he can cover it up and start again. And she highlights this when she decides to repaint the sky in her painting by remixing the colors and reapplying it to her painting. This further solidifies her love for painting and creating because she is not afraid to start over again to create the art that she wants instead of giving up. Vlogs are not the only place that Yuna shows her art skills. She has a live broadcast on Vlive showing her drawings to MIDZY and in the particular live broadcast posted below she shows a drawing of a carnation and of her cat Sarangie. Also, she shares with fans that she wants to learn to draw (through official classes). Lastly, you can find more of her artwork on Instagram. She even posted a few photos of her in an art studio painting a colorful sunset, as well as paintings of a realistic eye, and a lake with greenery and rocks.
