Byeon WooSeok is one of the rising actors that is taking the K-Drama and K-Film industries by storm with his striking visuals and potential to become the next big thing in Hallyu. If you’re new to Byeon WooSeok, here is some basic information about him. He was born on October 31, 1991, and has had his eye on the prize of achieving his dream no matter what. He is a model-turned-actor who pursued his dream regardless of hesitation that he faced from his parents about modeling. In fact, he was even in the department of theater and film in school. His parents had their doubts about his modeling career at first but are extremely supportive of his acting career now. Byeon WooSeok started out his modeling career around 2015, keeping a deep interest in acting. Fortunately, he was able to take acting lessons while pursuing his model career. He exercised a high spirit of perseverance and willingness to constantly improve, taking on countless auditions despite failing more than a few times. Thankfully, he finally made his acting debut in 2016 with a role in “Dear My Friends”. Let’s take a look at some of the most notable roles in his acting career, so far. As Do Joon in “Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency” (2019), he played a character whose charms were hard to resist. In fact, he showed fans a spark through his chemistry in the drama.
His role in “Record of Youth” (2020) as Won HaeHyo showed us his ability to digest complex characters and show off their intricacies. It is also the role that enforced Byeon WooSeok as a heartthrob in the eyes and hearts of many K-Drama fans, gaining him double his following on social media. Interestingly, he has once mentioned that Sa HyeJun (played by Park BoGum, opposite him in the drama) is quite similar to him in terms of background, upbringing, growth, and thoughts. The character he played, Won HaeHyo, was admittedly difficult for him to get into at first because they are so different. He cites that he related to HyeJun’s determination to make it in the industry despite the interference from his mother.
His role in “Moonshine” (2021) as Lee Pyo earned him a world of praise for his upgraded acting that was full of even more genuine emotional conviction. His shiny visuals also, once again, gained an abundant number of compliments.
In “20th Century Girl” (2022) his role as Poong WoonHo showed a wholesome and endearing side to him that was hard to resist. He showed how even his subtle and more understated acting oozes a handsome appeal paired with his evident passion for the art. This is yet another role that spiked his number of followers as K-Drama fans worldwide fell for him. Byeon WooSeok once mentioned being able to relate to WoonHo’s character because the role reminded him of his unrequited first love in middle school.

They don’t call him ‘Mr. Long Legs’ for no reason with a height of 187cm. ‘Model-like proportions’ are just the basics and Byeon WooSeok is running a masterclass. Even when he is not embodying the phrase ’top model’, his effortless gorgeousness shines through, too. Byeon WooSeok is known as one of the actors who posts the best boyfriend material pictures. In fact, many fans call him husband material, too. In addition to his beautiful appearance, Byeon WooSeok is known for his golden philosophy on life. His motto is to enjoy life to the fullest and to be in the pursuit of happiness. As an actor, his ambitions are to become a dependable actor who can pull off a range of roles and characters such as a psychopath or even a character in a fantasy or sci-fi K-Drama. In the same breath, he wants to do romantic comedy dramas and healing dramas that would comfort the viewer. He wants to be remembered in the eyes of his fans as someone who constantly delivers an authentic acting performance. You might notice a commonality in his most prominent roles, so far too. In one interview, when asked if he thinks it’s unfortunate that he mostly plays roles such as a love interest, comforting boyfriend, or crown prince, he said that he is simply grateful to even have the acting jobs in the first place. There are many people who want to be actors. So, it is a blessing that he has the opportunity at all, regardless of the character. Byeon WooSeok has said that he enjoys playing these types of roles as they allow him to act in a way where he can express his feelings, which he finds fun. However, he is sincere about wanting to try more diverse roles. Byeon WooSeok has a mindset of continuous learning and has mentioned that he believes that he’ll become the actor he aspires to be as he matures and gains more acting experience. We are certainly looking forward to whatever direction he wants to go in as an actor in the future. There is only one way for him to go and that is straight to the top! What do you think?
