With SungJong’s screen comeback coming soon, here are 5 character types we would love to see SungJong take on!
1. Soft Male Lead Who Does The Chasing
We’ve seen SungJong as the chic, indifferent, tsundere male lead in “Mysterious Nurse” and while that did give us all the butterflies, wouldn’t it be simply delightful to see SungJong in a refreshing romantic comedy where he’s the one who falls head over heels first and doesn’t hesitate to make it obvious? Drawing from his own bubbly personality, the manic pixie dream boy character type would fit SungJong like a glove! While playing hard to get with SungJong might not be relatable, it will certainly be entertaining.
2. College Professor
SungJong has all the makings of that one college professor you just cannot take your eyes off of. Are you deeply focused on his lecture or just mesmerized by his voice? Is the blackboard really that interesting, or are SungJong’s visuals teaching you all you need to know about the world? The only way to find out is to see him play a Professor on screen.
3. Modern Day Prince
This character choice needs no explanation. SungJong’s otherworldly good looks and handsome physique coupled with his kind personality and multifaceted talents, make him fit for royalty. A situational comedy starring SungJong as a Prince, would make all our alternate universe dreams come true. After all, who wouldn’t want to entrust a fictional nation to his reliable hands?
4. Misunderstood Youngest Son Of A Chaebol Family
Being the maknae comes quite naturally to SungJong so it isn’t hard to imagine him as the misunderstood youngest son of a conglomerate who has no desire to inherit his family’s business or live a privileged life. Instead, he’s a rebel without a cause who would much rather pave his own path in life than settle for something that doesn’t make him happy. This would definitely be a melodrama worth watching.
5. Consulting Detective
Charming, highly intelligent, and bold, SungJong could play the perfect consulting detective. Think of characters like Sherlock Holmes (“The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”) and Neal Caffrey (“White Collar”) and you’ll see where we’re going with this argument. With the ideal balance of fatal charisma and analytical seriousness, SungJong could pull off this role like no other. What kind of role do you want to see SungJong in?
